For many, many years
Here are some inventions made by people like you
In their younger years

Cowboy gun holsters inspired a girl of 6
She invented a carrying case
A pack that strapped around the thigh for kids
To carry their video games 

That treat of treats, the popsicle 
Or what some call the ice lolly
Was invented by an 11 year old
He was known to be quite jolly

A boy of 16 made the first trampoline
He was jumping with joy and delight
Another teen wanted to brighten Christmas Eve
And invented the string of lights

Toy trucks were made by a 6 year old
He knew how to have fun
A 15 year old came up wtih the idea
Of the earliest television 

One of America’s founding fathers
Invented flippers for swimming
(Later he also invented the lightning rod)
Benjamin Franklin was then just 11 

Braille and snowmobiles, ear muffs and waterskis
Were each invented by a child
